The Opportunity For Change
Global Warming has become a political debate that fills our daily news. Earthquake – tsunami– severe flooding –
drought – collapse of the Gulf Stream - all have become common terms used to define
our future. Our Earth is changing and our sustainable life support systems are in danger. How are we to respond?
Declaring a war on Global Warming will not
restore deep water supplies in the earth, keep ancient glaciers from melting, stabilize the seasons or repair oceanic habitat.
We can’t cut down a tsunami with a broad sword. We can’t shoot the wind. We can’t arrest an earthquake.
But we can take personal responsibility for our safety, security and
peace of mind. We can build a safe shelter, outfit and supply it with all we need for a sustainable future. It is the most sensible response to climate change. Our quality of life and protection depend on it. The time for preparedness is now.
